My journey to counselling
I’ve spent over 30 years working in community wellbeing, the creative industries, and supportive spaces. Throughout that time, I’ve always been drawn to helping people feel more connected, understood, and supported.
Alongside my professional experience, my own therapeutic and personal growth journey has deepened my understanding of how important safe, therapeutic, inclusive, accessible and compassionate support can be.
I also bring lived experience of navigating neurodivergence, chronic health challenges, burnout, and significant life transitions, which informs my commitment to creating a supportive, flexible, and neuro-affirming space for others.
Becoming an Integrated Counsellor felt like a natural continuation of my professional work and a way to offer people a deeper space for reflection, healing, and personal growth.
What I enjoy most about counselling is creating a space where people can simply be themselves without judgement or pressure. I value the honesty and trust that can grow within the therapeutic relationship and the privilege of supporting people as they begin to understand themselves more compassionately, navigate challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
I believe even small moments of feeling heard, accepted, and less alone can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing.

My warm and collaborative approach
I would describe my approach as warm, compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where I hope people can feel safe to be themselves, unmask, talk openly, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
I understand that everyone’s experiences and needs are different, so I work in a flexible and integrative way, drawing from different counselling approaches depending on what feels most supportive for each person. Some sessions may focus on talking things through and gaining insight, while others may include grounding, mindfulness, emotional awareness, creative exploration or more practical coping tools.
What makes my approach special is the combination of professional counselling and therapy training, my own lived experiences, with many years of experience in community wellbeing, inclusive and accessible work, creativity and holistic support.
I bring warmth, gentleness, and genuine care into the work, while also recognising the importance of feeling accepted, empowered, and supported as a whole person, not just a set of problems to fix.

What I hope for you
I hope clients feel safe enough, accepted, and genuinely heard when they work with me. Many people come to counselling carrying stress, overwhelm, self-doubt, or the feeling that they have to cope with everything alone, so I aim to offer a space where they can pause, breathe, and feel supported without judgement.
Over time, I hope clients begin to feel more connected to themselves, more compassionate towards their own experiences, and better able to understand their thoughts, emotions, and needs. I want people to leave sessions feeling a little lighter, more grounded, and less alone in what they’re carrying.
Ultimately, I hope counselling helps people build greater self-trust, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of wellbeing in their everyday lives.
